Vera Basor (Trebinje, 1974) is a poet and short-story writer, author of four poetry collections: Lutajući mirisi (2000), Na krilima Urila (2018), Vrijeme suncokreta (2023), and Vizantijsko plavo. She lives and works in Trebinje.

Full bio

Vera Basor was born on 10 October 1974 in Trebinje, where she lives and works. She began writing in her secondary-school years. She is the author of four poetry collections — Lutajući mirisi (2000), Na krilima Urila (2018, “Svet knjige” Belgrade and the “Jovan Dučić” literary society of Trebinje), Vrijeme suncokreta (2023, “ASoglas” Zvornik and the National Library of Trebinje), and Vizantijsko plavo (National Library of Trebinje). Her work appears in the anthology Hercegovački vijenac (2015). She won second prize at the international competition “Svetosavska zvona” (Austria, 2020) for the poem “Čuvari”, and third place at the X International Literary Festival of Russian–Montenegrin friendship. She has taken part in the Dučić Poetry Evenings (2022), the 63rd International Book Fair in Belgrade (2018), and literary encounters in Banja Luka and Trebinje (2025). Her poems and short stories have appeared in the Serbian journal Književne novine and numerous online magazines.
