Vera Basor

Vera Basor is a poet and short-story writer born on 10 October 1974 in Trebinje, where she still lives and works. She began writing while still in secondary school.

She is the author of the poetry collections Lutajući mirisi (2000) and Na krilima Urila (2018, “Svet knjige”, Belgrade, in collaboration with the “Jovan Dučić” literary society of Trebinje), as well as the collection Vizantijsko plavo. Her work appears in joint collections and anthologies, including Hercegovački vijenac (2015), and has been published in literary journals and numerous online magazines.

Recognition

  • Second prize — international competition “Svetosavska zvona: Poetry whispers within us”, Austria (2020), for the poem “Čuvari”.
  • Third prize — X International Literary Festival of Russian–Montenegrin friendship.
  • Participant, “Dučić Poetry Evenings” (2022).
  • Guest at the 63rd International Book Fair, Belgrade (2018), Republic of Srpska stand.
  • Recipient of numerous plaques and diplomas.
