Distances Sense the Rain

Distances Sense the Rain

Distances sense the rain.
Transience does not relent.
In the eye, tiny crumbs of sky
lie curled up — silent.

The noise in this part of the soul
does not conceal transience.

Every longing is in vain
if, within it, you have not discovered yourself
and come to maturity.

In the universe, miracles happen
only in the eye of a human being,
in the pupil of the beholder.

I am what you are.
Sense within me
what I saw in your pupil.

Feed me with a tear.

Only the sound of bells
from the nearby church
can slay this transience,
and the cross, sealed
in the heart of the earth.

I no longer hear the noise.
It has remained
in the outskirts of transience,
along with all my understanding of reality.

With my body, I set out
to meet the dawn
and the sound of my dearest mornings...

There, I am still the same self,
within an earthly premonition.

You will not find me
in the sleeping body of time,
where fireflies disappear.

All my dreams remain, laid bare.

There, beneath the sun,
universes dream.

There, all the dreams
of unspoken loves
meet.
